YAQ’s industry initiatives strategically address the key areas, or ‘aspirations,’ set out in Horizons, the children and young people in the arts sector vision 2009 – 2013.

One of these is Creating Impact, a new development initiative for emerging cultural leaders.

Creating Impact

Creating Impact is a new, unique opportunity for arts and creative practitioners 30 years of age or under to explore their leadership potential.

Over two days, participants have the opportunity to;

• map their personal strengths and leadership capacities;
• discover different leadership models and styles;
• discuss practical strategies around creating impact;
• enhance their skills in group facilitation, decision making, planning and idea generation; and
• explore ways to extend the reach of their projects within and beyond their local communities.

Creating Impact was developed in partnership with Volunteering Qld and first delivered in Brisbane in November 2010. Future deliveries are to be announced. Check our upcoming section for more details.
